## Introduction

<span style="color: #6e6e6e">Here you can choose criteria to rank the resources in the results list. You can set up ranking criteria directly in the Assignment tab of the job under</span><span style="color: #6e6e6e"> </span>*Orders/Quotes → Job list → (Open job) → Assignment* or apply default settings to specific jobs in the Admin section under *Admin → Jobs*. This page will explain how to modify ranking criteria in both sections of Plunet.

## How to use the ranking criteria in the Assignment tab

You can modify the ranking criteria settings directly in the Assignment tab of a job. By changing and reordering these settings, you can change the order of the resource results list to prioritize the best resources for your specifications. You can remove ranking criteria by clicking 'x' next to each value and add criteria by clicking '+ Add ranking criteria'. To reorder criteria, simply drag and drop the values directly into place in the Ranking criteria section.

## Available options in the ranking criteria

- **Prices**: The resource's cost for this particular job
- **Availability**: The resource's availability during job's timeframe (find out more about resource availability)
- **Resource assessment**: The current resource assessment value for the resource
- **No. of jobs for customer**: The number of jobs completed by the resource for the customer of the project
- **(job type) jobs for customer**: The number of jobs of the selected job type that the resource has completed for the customer of the project. This narrows down the search further than **Number of jobs for customer**. For example, there could be an internal resource who always does the proofreading for a particular customer and would always be at the top of the list due to the number of jobs that they have completed for this customer. However, if you actually want to see the resource with the most **Translation**** **jobs for this customer, then you can use this value.
- **Profit margin**: The profit margin for the item, including this job
- **Job feedback**: If the [QualityManager](https://plunethelp.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/KB/pages/890671)[ ](https://plunethelp.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/KB/pages/890671)module is activated, additional ranking criteria for job feedback are available
- **Distance**: If the [InterpretingManager](https://plunethelp.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/KB/pages/896978)[ ](https://plunethelp.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/KB/pages/896978)module is activated, additional ranking criteria for interpreting jobs are available. Resources can be sorted by their **Distance**** **from the project's event location. This depends on the setting under *Admin → Settings → Default values for all users → System for length measurement units*, the distance will be displayed in kilometers or miles. If no distance is displayed for a resource, please check if an event location with coordinates has been specified in the project and if the resource profile contains an address with coordinates.

You can arrange and delete these criteria as needed. They will appear as columns in the results list in the job.

For example, if you prioritize **Profit margin **as the first criterion, each resource's job price will be shown. If two resources have the same value for the top criterion, the second criterion (e.g., **No. of jobs for the customer**) determines the order of the results list.

## Profit margin

Profit margin is one of the Ranking criteria options in the Assignment tab. The profit margin is calculated based on the price for each resource. T<span style="color: #6e6e6e">he displayed profit margin is just a "snapshot", as other jobs in the item might not be taken into account, because they have not been assigned yet. In this case, an icon will appear in the column header with the information that the displayed profit margin may differ from the final profit margin of the item, because at least one other job in the item has not been assigned yet.</span>

<span style="color: #6e6e6e">If the calculated profit margin takes all of the jobs of the item into account, it is displayed in either green or red:</span>

- Green: The profit margin is greater than or equal to the target profit margin.
- Red: The profit margin is less than the target profit margin.

If the profit margin cannot be calculated because, for example, the job price cannot be identified, then this information will appear on the screen:

*"Only jobs with the option ****Include expense I (job prices) in gross profit**** activated under ****Prices & Times → Settings**** will be included in the calculation of the profit margin."*

Under **Queries → Gross profit** you can use the checkboxes to decide which job statuses should be included in the calculation of the gross profit (and therefore the profit margin). For example, if you deselect the status **In progress**, jobs with this status will no longer be included in the calculation of the item's profit margin (it is not recommended to use this setting).
